Martha Stewart Lays Off 100 Employees

Nutley native Martha Stewart laid off about 100 people from her namesake company, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, the New York Post reported this week.

The Post noted that when Daniel Dienst became new chief executive officer in late October, speculation started about major cutbacks. The Post said the downsizing included some of the company’s upper-level executives and that the news reduced some to tears.

The cutbacks are believed to represent about 20 percent of its 500-person staff.
