Martha Stewart's Twitter Pics of Food: Avant Garde or Gross?

Nutley native Martha Stewart is internationally known for her taste in food. And with her multi-media empire spanning images both moving and static, she should know her way around a camera.

It's puzzling then, that her photos of food are coming under fire. Earlier this month, Buzzfeed collecting a group of photos of food Stewart featured on her Twitter feed under the headline "Someone Needs To Tell Martha Stewart Her Food Tweets Are Disgusting."

Stewart responded to the list with a picture of a Tartuffi bianchi that caused the website Eater.com to suppose "maybe she's deliberately trying to post ugly photos."

But on Friday, wired.com posited a newer, wilder and more tongue in cheek theory: Martha is putting the A, R and T in her name to work, creating avant garde photos of grotesque food as experimental art. 

While Wired.com applauded Stewart's "complex artistic vision," praising photos for their "soft, sloppy focus echoing the uncertainty of the human condition" they did suggest that in future works she could consider using the flash on her camera and framing her shots more tightly
