Mercedes Left Running, Stolen From Nutley Driveway: Police

The victim told Nutley police that they left their car running in their driveway for about two minutes prior to the theft.

NUTLEY, NJ — A car was stolen from a driveway on Nutley Avenue last week, Nutley authorities said.

According to the Nutley Police Department, the theft took place on Jan. 28. The victim told officers that their 2010 Mercedes was stolen after they left it running in the driveway for about two minutes.

The victim said they saw a Honda pull in front of the home and come to a stop. A man then got out of the rear door and got into the victim’s Mercedes, driving away at a high rate of speed, police stated.

Clifton police spotted the stolen vehicle and pursued it onto Route 21 southbound into Newark, authorities said.

No additional information was immediately available.
