NJ Man Brandished Knife At Bus Driver: Nutley Police

A Newark resident has been accused of brandishing a knife during an argument with a NJ Transit bus driver in Nutley.

NUTLEY, NJ — An Essex County man has been accused of brandishing a knife during an argument with a NJ Transit bus driver in Nutley last week, authorities said.

According to the Nutley Police Department, the bus driver told officers that an “irate passenger” brandished a knife and gave chase during a dispute on Nov. 23.

Belleville police managed to locate and detain the passenger, Anthony Peet, 59, of Newark. Peet was eventually arrested and found to have warrants out of Newark and Irvington.

Nutley police charged Peet with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon. He was transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility pending a court hearing.
