Nutley Cop Smashes Car Window To Aid Unconscious Driver: PD

A Nutley driver crashed her car on Franklin Avenue and an officer came to her aid, police said.

NUTLEY, NJ — A Nutley police officer smashed a car window in an effort to aid an unconscious driver after her car crashed on Wednesday, authorities said.

According to the Nutley Police Department, the crash took place on Franklin Avenue. When an officer arrived on the scene, they found an unconscious woman behind the wheel.

The officer was able to shatter the window using a hammer and get into the car to provide medical assistance to the driver, a 45-year-old Nutley woman, police said.

Emergency responders transported the woman to a nearby hospital, authorities said.
