Nutley High School Performing Arts To Present ‘Newsies’
The NHS Performing Arts production features a cast of Nutley High School students as well as a live orchestra of students and professionals.

Nutley High School Performing Arts presents three performances of Disney's "Newsies" at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, Friday, March 8, and Saturday, March 9 at John H. Walker Middle School, 325 Franklin Avenue, Nutley.
Tickets for reserved seats are available for advance purchase online at fons.ticketleap.com (as of February 10 at 9 a.m.) All tickets are $15 plus a small, online purchase fee. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door starting 60 minutes prior to each performance (subject to availability). Pre-purchase of tickets is highly recommended.

Newsies made its debut in 2011 with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman, and book by Harvey Fierstein. Based on the Newsboys Strike of 1899, this Disney musical tells the story of Jack Kelly, a rebellious newsboy with big dreams, and his fellow newsies as they take action against their greedy boss, newspaper mogul Joseph Pulitzer.
This NHS Performing Arts production features a cast of Nutley High School students as well as a live orchestra of students and professionals. The production staff includes Director Michael Gurrieri, Assistant Director Eric Wdowiak, Student Director Frank Cordero, Musical Director Rebecca Polynice, Producer Jenine Grzywinski, Choreographer Cara Conte, Assistant Choreographer Rebecca Vigna, Set Designer Vern McKinney, Lighting Designer James Gardner, Sound Designer Henry Meola, Art Director Theresa Lappostato, Vocal Coach Christian Sebek, and Stage Manager Mia Geraghty. Stage crew and production support are staffed by family volunteers and students, including members of NHS Thespian Honor Society Troupe 4757.
