Schools Are Out Friday, Blood Drive on Saturday

Nutley and Belleville Schools are closed on Friday for the NJEA convention.
On Saturday, the Belleville Fire department is hosting a blood drive at their headquarters on 275 Franklin Ave. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents are urged to take part to help Belleville firefighter Kevin Lissenden, who needs a blood transfusion. Both Nutley and Belleville observe Veteran’s Day on Sunday. At 1:30 p.m., Nutley holds a Day of Honor: Veterans Appreciation Day at Kingsland Manor. The four hour-plus event includes a Civil War Historical Display and Re-enactment by Company B of 2nd Rhode Island Infantry and a Medal Ceremony honoring World War II Veterans.
