Snow Shuts Down Schools, Disrupts Overnight Parking

Winter weather emergency affects schools, transportation and parking.

Nutley and Belleville public schools are closed Friday due to the snowstorm. Nutley schools announced that all school activities are canceled as well.

Per an announcement from Nutley officials, no parking is permitted on roads covered with snow or when the county issues a snow emergency. Vehicles in violation will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense. The Police Department will not authorize any overnight parking when the roads are snow covered.

In Nutley, the Municipal Parking lot #1 located off Centre or Williams Streets behind the diner can be used for parking after 8 p.m. Thursday night until 8 a.m. Saturday. This lot is located directly behind the Nutley Diner, 372 Centre St.
