Stop & Shop Donates $2,000 to Lyndhurst Food Pantry
Stop & Shop Donates Bonus Commission from Sale of Million Dollar Jersey Cash 5 Lottery Ticket to Lyndhurst Food Pantry

Stop & Shop donated its $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning one million eighty-nine thousand three-hundred-dollar Jersey Cash 5 Jackpot that was drawn on February 28th to the Lyndhurst Food Pantry, which is run by the Health Department, to help fight food insecurity across Lyndhurst.
The Lyndhurst Food Pantry says it is currently providing food to 65 families a month, a 30% increase since the start of the Pandemic last March. “We are so grateful to Stop & Shop for directing its commission to the Lyndhurst Food Pantry,” said Lyndhurst Health Commissioner, Karen Haggerty. “Stop & Shop has once again shown that it is a good corporate citizen and strives to assist our community whenever possible.”
“The Lyndhurst Food Pantry is providing a vital service to so many individuals and families in need,” said Lyndhurst Stop & Shop Store Manager, Pasquale Cammareri. “We are so proud that one of our customer’s good fortune has allowed Stop & Shop to help our community.”

The winning numbers were: 12, 24, 28, 41, 42 and the XTRA number was 02.
“Congratulations to the Stop & Shop of Lyndhurst for selling the February 28th Jersey Cash 5 jackpot winning ticket and earning a $2,000.00 bonus, which they are generously contributing to the Lyndhurst Food Pantry. Their sizeable gift will help fight food insecurity in this community and create additional winners in our state, some who may not ever play the lottery,” said New Jersey Lottery Executive Director James A. Carey, Jr. “This retailer will continue to be known as a very lucky Lottery location and a very important member of the Lyndhurst Community and our state.”

Stop & Shop has provided ongoing emergency support to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, Fulfill and other local food pantries across New Jersey since the start of the pandemic. Stop & Shop is also supporting the Bergen County community by teaming up with Hackensack Meridian Health, which operates the Meadowlands mass vaccination site in East Rutherford, providing meals every Friday to fuel the vaccination staff and other frontline personnel.
