"American Landscape Art" by Katalin Luczay

July exhibition at Bernardsville Public Library: "American Landscape Art" by Katalin Luczay

Bernardsville Public Library is pleased to announce its July exhibition: "American Landscape Art" by Katalin Luczay, a resident of Alexandria Township in Hunterdon County. The artist's reception will be held on Saturday, July 14 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Ms. Luczay showed aptitude for drawing at an early age growing up in war-torn Hungary in the fifties. After a turbulent time of escaping her country, settling in Canada and later in the U.S., she seriously took to developing her talent. She is basically self-taught, but took the chance to participate in different workshops and private instruction from Bucks County, PA artists. Working primarily in oil, Ms. Luczay is also adept in pastels and acrylics. In addition to being known for her seascape and landscape art, she is a recognized portrait painter as well. Her style is representational realism, and she likes to paint in a painterly way with a play of light in her works. She loves to paint water and dramatic skies. She has exhibited in solo and juried shows where she won recognition for her work in New Jersey as well as in Pennsylvania. Her works are in private collections in Europe, Canada and the U.S. She is a member of the New Hope Art League and The Guild of Creative Art, where she exhibits her works often.

The show at the library will be on view July 6 to July 30 during regular library hours, unless a meeting is in progress. For further information call the Library at 766-0118.
