AOL Founder Partners to Create Spa Destination at Natirar

Miraval at Natirar will help place New Jersey estate as a premiere tourist location.

Days of luxurious pampering, spa treatments and rejuvenation soon will not require a plane ride and beach for New Jersey residents as a new partnership will have a luxury resort built right in Peapack-Gladstone.

AOL Founder Steve Case is partnering up with Natirar estate owner Bob Wojtowicz to construct Miraval at Natirar, an all-inclusive resort on land originally owned by the King of Morrocco, according to NJ Monthly.

The estate is set on 500 acres of Somerset County parkland. The resort, slated to open in 2014, will feature 86 rooms with suites in the original Natirar mansion built in 1912.

A large-scale spa will be the centerpiece of the resort, while several relaxation activities and courses will be offered, NJ Monthly reported. Eventually, spa products may also be produced using plants grown on the Natirar property.

Case and his wife, Jean, own the Arizona-based Miraval resort, which has drawn celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres. The Peapack-Gladstone retreat will be the first expansion of Miraval.
