Camp Invention Returning to Bernardsville

The camp at Bedwell will offer hands-on science experience.

Camp Invention is returning to Bernardsville this year to help area students get some hands-on experience with science and technology.

According to a release from the program, the camp will be held the week of Aug. 5 at the Bedwell Elementary School off Seney Drive in Bernardsville. The camp is for students entering grades one through six.

This year’s week-long program is Geo-Quest, the release said, where students will have the opportunity to use physics and engineering to create a Duck Chucking device through the use of everyday objects.

The camp is inspired by the National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees, and is sponsored by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

During each day of camp students rotate through integrated modules that allow for creative thinking to solve real-world challenges, the release said. Children, the release said, will learn skills that include problem solving and teamwork.
