Deer Hunting Begins In Bernardsville

The hunt will run through Feb. 17, 2019 at 4 borough properties: Borough Springs/Laurelwood, Charlotte Hill, Peter's Tract and Whitenack.

BERNARDSVILLE, NJ — For the third consecutive year, deer hunting will begin in Bernardsville with until Feb. 17, 2019, on four borough-owned properties: Borough Springs/Laurelwood, Charlotte Hill, Peter's Tract and Whitenack.

The deer management will be conducted using only bow and arrow hunting by the borough-approved Warren Blue Ridge Sportsman’s Club. No one else is permitted to hunt.

Each member assigned to the listed properties have registered with the Bernardsville Police Department and must call before entering and leaving Bernardsville with all necessary information about any hunting activity and display the Bernardsville Police Department registration on the dashboard of their vehicle(s), the borough announced.

Hunting will be conducted on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from about 6 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and the hunters can be back in the woods from 3 p.m. until sundown depending on weather conditions. No hunting will be done on holidays, according to the borough.

The four borough-owned properties have been clearly marked. Walkers are urged to be cautious during these times and control their animals, the borough announced.
