"Envisioned" - Photography and Digital Art by Charles T. Miller
An exciting variety of images as "envisioned" by the artist on view May 2-30, 2018

During the month of May, Bernardsville Public Library will feature works by photographer, digital artist and fashion designer Charles T. Miller. On exhibition will be a variety of images as “envisioned” by the artist. The show will include traditional photographic images – landscapes, travel, flowers, animals – that have been encountered “along the way.” Some of these will have been given special artistic treatments that will make them look less like photographs and more like drawings.
Also included will be special “digital art” – images that have begun from photographs, but have then been morphed into new and different abstract images "seen" in the artist’s mind and translated into the exhibited pieces. Images will be presented on a variety of surfaces, including canvas, acrylic and metal as well as traditional photographic forms.
Charles Miller is a regional artist who lives in Ringoes, NJ. He has exhibited around the state in many different galleries and shows. His work has been seen previously at Bernardsville Library in a solo exhibit as well as in regional arts group shows. Mr. Miller is a member of the Gallery 14 Fine Art Photography Gallery in Hopewell, NJ; the NJ Photography Forum; the New Jersey Art Association; Contemporary Arts Group and Hunterdon County Camera Club. His works have been shown at Grounds For Sculpture, Watchung Arts Center, Chauncey Center at ETS, Overlook Hospital, Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, Morris County Library and the galleries at the Mayo Performing Arts Center.

Miller says, “I find much joy in exploring the world and imagination in my photography. I attempt to find special looks and hidden secrets in the images I take and bring them out in the final images. But my first purpose is to create something that will attract and speak to the viewer of the work.”
Miller has recently started designing clothing and accessories for an online fashion company. He uses his images on scarves, purses, pillows, tops and other items. Many of the designs come from his floral images.
The show will be on view May 2-30 during regular library hours, unless a meeting is in progress. For further information call the Library at 766-0118.
