Torch Ignites Far Hills House Fire
Quick-working firefighters were able to save a Pennbrook Road home.

A fire begun accidentally by the use of a torch to melt flashing on the roof of a Far Hill house was stamped out by fast-thinking Far Hills firefighters Wednesday.
The fire, which began in the 12,000 square foot house on Pennbrook Road around 10:45 a.m., spread quickly into the house, the walls, and the basement ceiling, Brian Bassett, Assistant Chief of Bedminster-Far Hills Fire told NJ.com.
The firefighters got there quickly, Bassett said, and tore out walls that prevented the fire from spreading. There were no injuries, and the house remains habitable, Bassett said in the NJ.com article.
