Half of Bernardsville-Bedminster Team Says Goodbye

Audrey Levine bids farewell to the Bedminster community.

I am two weeks shy of three years with Patch, and a few months shy of one year since Bernardsville-Bedminster Patch launched to the world.

But Friday is the day that I have to bid a fond farewell.

Friday is my last day with Patch, and a site that I have watched grow over the last eight or so months to become a trusted and enjoyed network of news for the people in northern Somerset County.

I have put my focus on Bedminster, and it has been an interesting ride since I first stepped foot in the municipal building on Miller Lane and introduced myself as the new Patch in town. I tried to ingrain myself into the workings of Bedminster as quickly as I could, which was a good thing, considering that about a month after we launched, we got hit with Superstorm Sandy.

Bedminster is quite the town, full of history, a very great school of people who really care and a township focused on making the best place to live for its residents.

I remember the very first council meeting I attended, people were raving about the recent Fall Fest and how exciting it was for families.

That’s the kind of town I think Bedminster is—a great place for families.

I admit I didn’t know too much about the town before I started covering it—I had heard about, knew Donald Trump liked it, but that was about it.

And although it has only been a very short time for me, I’m glad I got to know Bedminster and the people in it.

Now I may be leaving the website itself, but I’m not going far. I still live in Somerset County, and still plan on stopping by Kings on a fairly regular basis (their food is so good). So please, don’t hesitate to say hello, tell me what’s new in town.

As I wrap up my final week at Patch, I just want to thank you, Bedminster, for the faith you have put in me to report the news that matters to the residents of this town.
