Heat Advisory In Effect For Bernardsville, Bedminster Monday
The heat index is expected to hit between 100 and 104 due to temperatures in the low to mid 90s, and dewpoints in the lower 70s: NWS.

BERNARDSVILLE/BEDMINSTER, NJ — A heat advisory remains in effect from noon to 7 p.m. Monday for Bernardsville and Bedminster residents as temperatures are expected to soar.
The heat index is expected to hit between 100 and 104 due to temperatures in the low to mid 90s, and dewpoints in the lower 70s, according to the National Weather Service.
The afternoon and early evening will be when the highest heat index values will occur. As a result, the heat and humidity may cause heat stress during outdoor exertion or extended exposure.

The NWS offers there tips for staying cool:
- Drink plenty of fluids.
- Stay in an air-conditioned room.
- Stay out of the sun.
- Check up on relatives and neighbors.
- Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
- Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
- Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.
- Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
