This work is part of a $24 million project to resurface I-78 from Perryville Road/CR 625 in Union to the intersection of I-287 in Bedminster.

Improvements include applying a one-inch High Performance Thin Overlay (HPTO) on the travel lanes and shoulders of this stretch of I-78, as well as upgrades to curbs, drainage, and deck repairs on eight bridges within the project limits.

The application of a HPTO will improve ride quality, skid resistance, and reduce noise, as well extend the lifetime of the pavement. The project is expected to be completed in the winter of this year.
