Junior Rocket Workshop Promises to Give Kids a Real 'Bang'
Shake your kid's winter blues with a free rocket-building and launching workshop in January at the Far Hills Country Day School.

Ever want to fly high in the sky? The Far Hills Country Day School (FHCDS) will give you and your child a chance to see what flight's like by building and launching a rocket.
They will be hosting a Junior Rocket Science Workshop for girls and boys from kindergarten to 8th grade, on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the FHCDS Athletic Center, located at 697 Mine Brook Road/Route 202 in Far Hills.
The workshop takes place from 10 a.m. to 12 noon for children from kindergarten to 2nd grade and their parents. An afternoon workshop, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. will be held for students in grades 3 through 8.

This fun and engaging event will include a day of rocketry that features building and launching stomp and pneumatic rockets. Junior scientists will learn to measure and record data like a NASA scientist, make rockets from foam, test their rocket in a wind tunnel, and take part in a rocket car race. The day will end with a "bang" with the launch of a solid fuel rocket with parachute recovery system.
The rocketry workshop is free and open to the public. Prior registration, though, is mandatory, and a $10 per child donation is requested to benefit the Morristown Community Soup Kitchen.
