The Somerset County Business Partnership has released data about the county as a whole, and how businesses are handled in relation to the 117,673 households in the county—and it looks like that equals more than $7 billion in retail sales.
The partnership released data on retail sales for 2009, and has determined that the total retail sales among businesses in Somerset County is $7,475,400,007.
A majority of those sales are in food and beverage facilities, with $1,356,492,015 spent.

The second highest sales are for motor vehicles and parts, with a total of $1,159,820,013 spent.
In general merchandise throughout the county, $508,976,002 was spent.
