Morris & Essex-Gladstone Will Remain Suspended Through Friday
The Morris & Essex-Gladstone Branch rail service has been suspended in both directions and power has been out for residents since Thursday.

BERNARDSVILLE, NJ — Friday morning commuters should plan an alternate route to get home as the Morris & Essex-Gladstone Branch rail service will continue to be suspended in both directions through Friday, NJ Transit announced at 6:30 p.m.
Rail tickets and passes are being cross honored by NJ Transit and private carrier buses. Select M&E trains will make additional stops east of Summit.
Overhead wire issues reported at 5 a.m. on Thursday near Bernardsville caused the train suspension between Summit and Gladstone.

Additionally, the downed pole and wires had affected power in the area leaving residents in the dark all day long on Thursday in Bernards Township, Bernardsville, Far Hills, Bedminster and Peapack and Gladstone. Power has since been restored as of Thursday night.
