Power Outage Impacts Lunch At Somerset Hills Schools

Power was restored to the district as of 12:15 p.m. on Monday. Students were dismissed at their regularly scheduled times.​

BERNARDSVILLE, NJ — Power was lost temporarily on Monday morning at all Somerset Hills district buildings.

As a result, Maschios, the district's food service provider, provided cold lunches to all who wanted to purchase lunch, the district announced to parents in an email.

Power was restored to the district as of 12:15 p.m. in Monday. Students were dismissed at their regularly scheduled times.

Three Basking Ridge schools also had power outages causing Ridge High School, William Annin Middle School and Cedar Hill Elementary School to dismiss early following power outages cause by severe wind and downed trees and wires.

The Bernards Township Library also closed due to power issues Monday.

A total of 126 Bernardsville and 135 Bedminster JCP&L customers are still without power as of 7:55 p.m. (See Related: Rt. 206 Reopened, 1K Still Without Power In Somerset County)

A high wind warning was in effect for the county until 6 p.m. Monday, the National Weather Service reported.
