Strong Thunderstorm Could Bring Torrential Rain, Hail, Lightning to Somerset County

The Weather Channel issued an alert that a thunderstorm bringing high wind gusts, torrential rainfall, hail and lightning could hit the area

Bedminster, NJ - A strong thunderstorm bringing high wind gusts, torrential rainfalls and pea-sized hail may hit the area, according to an alert issued by The Weather Channel.

A thunderstorm outside of Trenton a little after 7 p.m. was reportedly moving east and carrying wind gusts up to 30 mph, hail and torrential rainfall.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is also occurring.

Localized flooding is possible. Driver are advised not to drive through flooded roads.

Bedminster and surrounding areas may be impacted as the storm passes through. The alert is in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 21.
