Vanderveer House SpringFest to Feature Colonial Tunes
Linda Russell will be the featured performer.
The Jacobus Vanderveer House in Bedminster will be holding its Colonial SpringFest to celebrate everything colonial.
The event will be held Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine.
Reenactors, according to the release, will be on hand outside under a period tent for a picnic. But inside the home, guests can take a tour to see vendors selling homemade soaps, knitted goods, glassware, jewelry, clothing and more.

Linda Russell, a former balladeer for the National Park Service, will be performing colonial music, the release said. Russell will be playing the hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, pennywhistle, limberjack and guitar to bring to life many different tunes of the 18th century.
Russell, the release said, has performed at the Morristown National Historical Park, Historic New Bridge Landing in River Edge and the Old Dutch Parsonage Stage historic site in Somerville. Her appearances in New York have included the Carnegie Hall Folk Festival, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Lincoln Center Out-of Doors.

Visitors for the day, the release said, are encouraged to bring food in a basket or container, as well as a blanket and lawn chairs.
