Vladimir Goes for Gold!

A performance by Traveling Lantern Theatre Company, this interactive play tells the story of a young athlete on an Olympic adventure.

Traveling Lantern Theatre Company will present "Vladimir Goes for Gold!" at Bernardsville Public Library on Monday, July 18 at 7:00 pm. Part of the summer reading program, "On Your Mark, Get Set Read!" which challenges us to exercise our minds and bodies for improved overall fitness, this interactive play tells the story of a young athlete on an Olympic adventure. Meet Vladimir Cashewninski, champion badminton player and sole athlete from the tiny People’s Republic of Insurgistan, as he prepares to compete at the Olympic Games. The night before his big day, he has an enthralling dream that takes him to Ancient Olympia, where he meets the Olympic Herald and teams up with the audience to explore the first Olympic Games.

There is no charge to attend the program, which is for children ages six and up, and no sign-up is needed.

Traveling Lantern has been educating and entertaining children all over the country since 1985. Its mission is to bring great stories to children, to draw them into an active theater experience, to excite their minds, and to tickle their imaginations. Children from the audience are invited onstage and are actively involved in the story.
