3 Hurt As Boat Hits Marker Near Mantoloking Bridge

BRICK, NJ ? One person was flown to a hospital and two others suffered minor injuries after a boat hit a navigational marker near the Mantoloking Bridge on Sunday night, New Jersey State Police said.

The crash was reported at 10:19 p.m. Sunday, Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.

The preliminary investigation showed the boat hit Intracoastal Waterway Marker 14 in Traders Cove Marina in Brick, Lebron said. The marker, which does not have lights, is referred to as a day beacon.

The passenger and the boat's driver suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital, Lebron said.

The crash remains under investigation.
