Brick Again Seeking Brokers To Rent Civic Plaza
No bids received in last attempt

Brick Township will again bid for a broker to rent out space in Civic Plaza, after failing to find a broker earlier this month.
The township had no bidders on its recent attempt to get a brokerage firm to rent out the township-owned strip mall of Civic Plaza, on Chambers Bridge Road.
“The township went out to bid this service, and received no bidders,” said Brick Business Administrator Scott Pezarras. “If the second time around there’s no bidders, the township can then negotiate with local broker for the service.”

The broker would rent out units at Civic Plaza, which currently houses the recreation department for Brick. Another unit is used by longtime tenant Oscar’s Pizza, but other units have remained vacant.
In early 2012, the township attempted to sell the plaza, but negotiations with a buyer fell through. In June of that year, the township solicited bids for a brokerage firm to find tenants to rent the units, and again asked for bids by a Dec. 10 deadline this year.

Previously, township officials estimated as much as $400,000 annual in rental income could be possible at Civic Plaza.
