BRICK, NJ — The Brick Township Chamber of Commerce's Educational Foundation awarded $30,000 in scholarships recently to help students who are continuing their educations.

The scholarship awards to 19 students were presented at a special networking cocktail party at the Shore Acres Yacht Club in Brick, where the recipients and their families joined members of the business community.

Michael Conti, president of the foundation, said the foundation raises the scholarship money through several efforts, including the proceeds of the annual Dream Dollars raffle; a Tree of Learning that is in the central hallway in the municipal building; donations to honor or memorialize special people in the donors' lives, and through the donation by local businesses of funds for career-specific awards, which were highlighted during the evening’s celebration.

The chamber, which represents businesses throughout Ocean County, has been awarding scholarships to students through its Educational Foundation since 1991.
