Brick Cops Nab Suspected Burglar

Long Branch man facing charges from September burglary

A man wanted in connection with a burglary in Wall Township was arrested by Brick police and charged with the crime, police said.

Robert Settles Jr., 31, of Long Branch, was arrested Oct. 5 by Brick Township police following a traffic stop on Sawmill Road, Wall Police Lt. Walter Pomphrey said.

Settles was turned over to Wall police, where he was charged with a single count of burglary and a single count of theft for his connection for a Sept. 18 burglary on Laurel Court, Pomphrey said.

Settles broke into the home through a window and stole an unidentified amount of property or money from the master bedroom, Pomphrey said.

Settles was taken to Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, in lieu of $25,000 bail, Pomphrey said.
