Brick EMS Squad Delivers Christmas Joy To Fellow Worker, Family

The Witham family is facing some tough times but a visit from Santa and the kindness of co-workers made for a joyful day.

BRICK, NJ -- A Brick Township family facing tough times received a special visit from Santa and some of his helpers in the Brick Township Police EMS squad just ahead of Christmas.

Stephanie Witham said she and her family were at home last week when the surprise visit from her husband's co-workers at Brick EMS happened.

"Shortly after bringing our second beautiful boy home I was let go from my full-time job," Witham said. Two weeks later, her husband, Paul, was sidelined from work due to severe pain, she said, "believed to be caused by a lesion found on his spine." He is now being tested for multiple sclerosis, she said.

"We were struck with disbelief when Brick's Mass Casualty Unit 5309 arrived at our door with Santa, and gifts for us to help us through our tough times." she said.

"We personally cannot thank them enough for their kindness," she wrote in an email to Patch, "and that’s why we’d like your help to make sure these brave men and woman get the proper recognition."
