Brick High Schools Named Gold Standard For Finance Curriculum
Brick Township Memorial High School and Brick Township High School have been recognized as Gold Standard Schools.
BRICK, NJ – Brick Township Memorial High School and Brick Township High School have been recognized as Gold Standard Schools for requiring all students to take personal finance classes before graduation.
Next Generation Personal Finance, a nonprofit provider of financial education curriculum, recognized the schools as just two of 1,247 Gold Standard and Future Gold Standard Schools.
Only five states in the country – Alabama, Missouri, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia – require high school students to take personal finance classes, so the responsibility falls on school districts in other states to provide personal finance courses to their students.

"Behind each of these trail-blazing schools is a story," said Tim Ranzetta, NGPF co-founder and CEO in a prepared statement. "A story of a teacher, parent, grandparent, student, administrator, local representative or businessperson who asked an important question: Why don't we teach ALL students about the real-world financial decisions they'll be making every day for the rest of their lives?"
