Brick Township Hiring Lifeguards, Counselors, Crossing Guards
Applications are now being accepted for several positions for the 2021 summer season.

BRICK, NJ — Brick Township is hiring lifeguards, camp counselors, crossing guards and other positions for the coming summer season.
The Recreation Department is hiring the following:
Camp Counselor: Camp operates from June 28 to Aug. 3. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., weather permitting. Must be at least 15 years old. There will be a mandatory staff training day. Counselors must comply with all procedures, policies and practices. Counselors are responsible for overseeing campers ages 4-13. Must be able to supervise a variety of recreational activities. No experience necessary.

Lifeguard: Must be at least 16 years old. Must be able to swim 500 yards and run 1 mile. Applicants must provide doctor’s note prior to tryout. Tryout scheduled for May 11 at 3 p.m. at Brick Beach 3. Training will be provided. Must be available for training prior to season start. Season is Memorial Day through Labor Day, 40 hours per week. Starting pay $11.90/hour.
Badge Checker: Must be at least 16 years old. Must be courteous and responsible. No previous experience necessary. From Memorial Day thru Labor Day. Part-time or possibly up to 40 hours per week, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Tennis Instructor: Must be 18 years old. Responsible for teaching group lessons to individuals ages 6-14. Session is two weeks long. First aid and CPR certification a plus. Tennis experience required.
Parks Maintenance/Laborers: Must be at least 16 years old. CDL preferred, but not required. Responsibilities include park maintenance, litter pick-up, building maintenance, cleaning, lifting and other various duties. Must comply with all safety standards. Must be responsible and dependable.
Summer Crossing Guard: The position entails assisting residents with crossing traffic lanes, responding to inquiries from the public, and keeping records. The candidate must be responsible, patient, and self-directed. Candidates must be willing to become familiar with rules and laws pertinent to the work. Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional demeanor. Traffic guard experience preferred. This is a seasonal, full-time position from May through September. Candidates must be available for weekend work. Starting salary is $15/hour. The Township of Brick is a NJ Civil Service jurisdiction and an Equal Opportunity employer.
