Brick's Main Post Office Reopens After Brief Closure
Staffing issues from the coronavirus caused the Brick office to close briefly, officials said. The Osbornville post office is closed now.

BRICK, NJ — People who still need to mail packages for Christmas will be able to get in-person help at the main office of the Brick Township Post Office again Thursday, a day after a sign said it was closed "until further notice."
The closure on Wednesday was a result of staffing issues that have resulted from the coronavirus pandemic, issues that are plaguing the United States Postal Service across the country.
"USPS is experiencing unprecedented volume increases and limited employee availability due to the impacts of COVID-19," the postal service said in a notice on its website. "We appreciate your patience and remain committed to delivering the holidays to you."

"This was a temporary situation," he said. The operations manager at the Brick post office "is flexing available resources" to keep services going.
While in-person customer service resumed Thursday the Brick post office, the Osbornville post office is closed, Daiutolo said.
The main office in Brick also has a self-service kiosk for customers that is available 24 hours a day for buying regular Forever stamps with flags and for shipping packages. Payment is by debit or credit only on the kiosk.
Mail delivery service from the Brick post office has not been affected by the staffing shortages, Daiutolo said.
"We appreciate the patience of our customers and the efforts of employees as conditions change on a day-to-day basis," he said.
