Driver Charged As Crash Shut Beaverson Blvd In Brick For 9 Hours
The driver was charged with careless driving, police said, after the utility pole came down in the road.

BRICK, NJ — One person was hurt in a crash that took down a utility pole and shut down Beaverson Boulevard for more than nine hours on Friday, Brick police said Tuesday.
Police said the driver was headed east on Beaverson Boulevard about 12:30 p.m. in the left lane and lost control in the bend of the road. The vehicle went off the road to the right and hit a utility pole, breaking the pole and bringing the pole and power lines down on the road, police said.
The driver was taken to Ocean Medical Center in Brick for treatment of neck pain. He was charged with careless driving and received a summons for failure to wear a seat belt, police said.

Beaverson Boulevard was closed to traffic while crews from Jersey Central Power & Light replaced the utility pole.
