Hall-of-Famer Cal Ripken Jr. To Appear At Brick Roy Rogers
The baseball star who set a record for consistency by appearing in 2,632 consecutive games is helping the chain mark its 50th anniversary.

BRICK, NJ — Baseball Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. will be in Brick Township later this month, taking part in a promotion that celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Roy Rogers restaurant chain.
Cal Ripken, Jr., known as baseball’s "Iron Man" for playing in a world record 2,632 consecutive games, and the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation have joined up with the fast food chain to mark its 50th and promote the works of the foundation, which offers youth development programs to reach kids in under-served areas.

"Roy Rogers is a brand I have known and enjoyed since I was a kid and I am thrilled to partner with them in their 50th year," said Ripken, who spent his entire 21-year career with the Baltimore Orioles and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007. "They are helping our foundation and looking to grow and I am excited to be a part of it."
Roy Rogers opened its first restaurant on April 6, 1968 in Falls Church, VA, and now has 54 restaurants in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Ripken's visit to the Brick location at 72 Brick Boulevard is scheduled for 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, April 30. He will be assisting the staff there by taking orders, manning the drive-through and whipping up Roy’s famous fried chicken.
Roy Rogers is part of the Plamondon Companies, which is based in Frederick, MD.
The Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation has worked tirelessly to implement youth development programs and create parks that directly address the problems facing at-risk youth in distressed communities across the country. The Ripkens created the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation to honor the legacy of its family patriarch, longtime coach, and mentor, Cal Ripken Sr.
The Ripken Foundation’s Youth Development Park Initiative creates clean, safe places for kids to play on multipurpose, synthetic surface fields that promote healthy living in an outdoor recreational facility.
