A Love Letter To Tom Thieme

Two lifelong Brick residents have been together every day since they met 23 years ago.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we asked Patch readers to write a love letter to that special someone and let us deliver it. This is Kathleen Thieme’s love story about her husband, Tom:

"Both my husband and I are Brick lifetime residents. My husband, 53, is from Brick Memorial and I, 50, am from Old Brick. We met 23 years ago at a Wildwood Elks convention. It was love at first sight. Amazed we both were from Brick, we had our first date the day after we met and never have been apart.

We got engaged two months later and married one year after that. It’s been 23 years now. We have one boy, 22, and one girl, 17. Through good and bad times we’ve always stuck by each other.

I love him with all my heart. He is so sweet, and we are somewhat opposite but seem to bring out best in each other. He's a great husband and father. He's been a volunteer fireman at Breton Woods and works for Brick DPW. We love our town as much as each other."
