Lynx Kittens Join Six Flags Great Adventure Safari Family (Video)

The adorable felines are native to cold-weather climates; they are the latest babies to be raised at the park.

JACKSON, NJ – If you're looking for something to brighten up your Monday, Six Flags Great Adventure has just the dose of cuteness that you need: three lynx kittens.

The kittens — two female and one male — arrived recently at the safari at the theme park in Jackson. They weighed about 2 pounds each at birth and will grow to an average of 30 to 50 pounds, a release from park officials said.

Patches and Laila, and their brother, Ovi, can be seen at Camp Aventura on the Safari Off Road Adventure, park officials said.

Eurasian lynx are born with dark ear tufts, signature to their species. They are native to cold climates and have webbed feet to help them walk on snow. This medium-sized wildcat is regarded as a solitary, powerful predator.

Six Flags Great Adventure, home to more than 70 different species of animals, features other big cats such as Bengal and Siberian tigers and African lions.

In January 2016 the park showed off a Siberian tiger cub and lion cub that were born at the same time and were being raised together. The two — Nadya the tiger and Zuri the lion — are about 18 months old now.
