Services Set For Joseph Kenney, Owned Party Time Inn In Mantoloking

The former Ocean County resident owned the inn for many years, his family said.

A memorial service has been set for former Mantoloking resident Joseph P. Kenney, who died Oct. 2. He was 84.

Joe, who had lived in Florida for the past 20 years, was the owner of the Party Tim Inn in Mantoloking, now known as Used To Be’s, for many years.

Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked as an accountant for Merck before retiring and owning the inn. He loved tailgating and watching the New York Giants and Notre Dame football. Joe loved watching Westerns, especially Gunsmoke and Cheyenne. He was a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. Joe was always known as the life of the party.

He was born on March 25, 1931 in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and lived in Mantoloking for many years before moving to Florida 20 years ago. He lived in North Palm Beach, Fla., at the time of his passing.

Joe is survived by his cousins, Paul Hacker and wife Susan, Marilyn Nilsson and husband Roy, James A. Hacker Jr. and wife Susan, Dennis Ryker and wife Maryann, Douglas Ryker and wife Diane and Tom LaBaugh and wife Diane, and many other loving relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held for Joe at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, 2015 at St. Catharine’s Cemetery in Sea Girt, NJ. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
