BRICK, NJ — Snow and a lot of icy precipitation made a mess of the roads in Brick on Thursday, and the effects of the storm were lingering into Friday.

Brick Township sent out its plows as the snow was falling, and warned residents to drive with care.

“Road conditions are hazardous,” township officials said in a post on the town’s official Facebook page. “We encourage everyone to avoid traveling unless it is absolutely necessary.”

Statewide, New Jersey State Police said they responded to more than 400 crashes and assisted more than 270 motorists by 3 p.m. because of the hazardous conditions on the state’s roads.
