Urgent Care Offering COVID-19 Antibody Tests In Brick, Toms River
Immediate Care is offering tests that show whether someone has antibodies from a COVID-19 infection or vaccination.
BRICK, NJ — Immediate Care, which operates urgent-care clinics in Brick and Toms River, it is offering rapid COVID-19 antibody testing.
The testing, which is done by a finger prick and takes 15 minutes for results, identifies antibodies in a patient’s blood to determine past infection or exposure to COVID-19.
Antibodies are proteins created in the body’s immune system soon after someone has been vaccinated or infected by a virus. These antibodies can help to protect an individual from catching the disease again.

Immediate Care does not use antibody tests to diagnose COVID-19; that is done through saliva or nasal PCR testing.
An antibody test does not show a current infection; it takes one to three weeks after the infection for the body to make antibodies.

Patients can schedule an appointment at one of the locations by visiting immcare.com or just dropping in. Clinics are based in Brick and Toms River. The cost is $59 for the test.
