8U Caldwell Blue Devils Reach Championship Game
Before this year, no team of 8-year olds from Caldwell has ever won more than two games in a full season.
The 8U Caldwell Blue Devils baseball team will recently played in the
Championship game of the consolation series of the Montville Spring Baseball
league. They reached the championship game after winning the first two
rounds of playoffs with a 15-7 win over West Essex, and a come from
behind win over Mt. Olive 11-10 score. Â They fell in the championship game
to a tough Wayne Wolfpack team.
The team had an amazing spring season with a record of 8-5. Before this
year, no team of 8-year olds from Caldwell has ever won more than 2 games in a full season.  Â
All players live in either Caldwell and West Caldwell.
They include: coaches Jim Fredo, Jimmy Fredo, Chris Novak, Chris
Checchetto and Danny Maida.
Players include Ty Fredo, Ray Zamloot, Nicky Murante, Harry Boland,
Mikey Platt and Luke Maida, Rocco Checchetto, Christian Strumulo, Matty Novak, Matt Crisafi, Carter Murray and Jordan Catrambone.
