CALDWELLS, NJ — Caldwell-area youngsters walked away with big fish tales at this year’s Essex County Fishing Derby in Grover Cleveland Park.

Several young anglers participated in the 2019 contest, which took place on May 9. The following information comes courtesy of Essex County (photos by Glen Frieson).

Giancarlo Morey from Roseland caught the first fish in the boys' category
Valentina Barbieri from Livingston caught the first fish in the girls' category and the most fish in the girls' age 11-15 category
Luke Takkel from Roseland caught the most fish in the boys' age 0-5 category
Grace Bussanich (second from left) from Roseland caught the most fish in the girls’ age 0-5 category
Lucas Bussanich from Roseland caught the most fish in the boys' age 11-15 category
