Caldwell Artist Celebrates Black History With Show At Cedar Beans
Yomi Karade will exhibit her "Echoes of Africa Collection" at Cedar Beans Coffee Joint in Cedar Grove.

CALDWELLS, NJ — A Caldwell artist will exhibit works in celebration of Black History Month at Cedar Beans Coffee Joint, 575 Pompton Avenue in Cedar Grove.
Cedar Beans will display the “Echoes of Africa Collection” by Yomi Karade from Feb. 5 to March 2. For more information about the exhibit, call Cedar Beans at 908-955-8200, or email britsrock4autism@gmail.com.
Karade studied various art forms in England and the U.S. Featured in her “Echoes of Africa Collection” are “Madiba,” a colorful piece of the late South African President, Nelson Mandela, and “Walking Home,” which was painted when Karade worked and toured Ghana, West Africa more than 20 years ago.

Although it won’t be Karade’s first art exhibition, she has waited over 15 years to start showing her work again.
“I’ve been keeping my art work on the back burner for a long while now and it's time to share my work with the community again,” she said. “I am very thankful that Cedar Beans has allowed me to display my artwork for Black History Month 2020.”

According to a news release from the coffeehouse, 20 percent of all sales of artwork will go back to Cedar Beans, which will be taking all cumulative profits from its “11 Gallery Nights” throughout the year and awarding an art scholarship to a student from Cedar Grove High School in June 2020.
Karade, originally from England, has had her art exhibited in London, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and New York. She currently works as a personal trainer, and specializes in training adults and children with special needs under her program Inclusive Fitness Programs, I.F.P.
