James Caldwell High School alum Tyler Condit has a dream… to play professional football. What will the 2017 NFL draft hold in store?

CALDWELL, NJ — James Caldwell High School alum Tyler Condit has a dream… to play professional football.
The University of New Haven linebacker has amassed more than 450 tackles during his collegiate career, and is now training locally to prepare for the NFL draft, according to a recent news release.

What has your post-college regimen been like?
Tyler Condit: I'm currently back in Caldwell, NJ, and am training six days a week at Parabolic Performance and Rehab... I've been training with Devon Kennard, Mark Herzlich and Mike Burton.

What recent all-star/showcases have you participated in?
I competed at the College Gridiron Showcase in Texas. This was a unique experience, being from a D2 school it was a great opportunity to compete against players from SEC, Big 10, and Big 12 schools.
What have you heard from scouts?
A lot of the feedback I have gotten from scouts is to perform as a fullback at my pro day. They want to see the type of athlete I am, how well I can catch the football, and how well I'm going to run.
How does a small school prospect get noticed?
I believe social media is huge when it comes to getting noticed as a small school prospect.
What lessons did you gain from your high school days that have helped you on/off the field?
The biggest thing I take away from my high school days is the importance of preparing yourself on a daily basis. Whether that be in the film room, the weight room or on the practice field.
Where do you plan to watch the NFL Draft?
I plan to watch the NFL draft at home with my family.
What would it mean to you to make an NFL roster?
To make an NFL roster would mean the realization of a dream I’ve had since I was five-years-old.
What advice would you give high school players in the area about what they should do if they want to make it in the NFL?
The best advice I could give is to take advantage of every day. Time goes by quicker than you can imagine.
