CALDWELL, NJ — A Caldwell police officer recently helped to reunite a missing person with their family, authorities say.

The Caldwell Police Department issued a statement about the incident last week:

“We would like to commend Officer Kraynanski on his outstanding work in locating a missing person. Officer Kraynanski was on patrol when he observed a motorist commit several motor vehicle violations and proceeded to stop the vehicle and investigate. The driver, who had been reported missing by their family to another police department, had become disoriented and lost. Officer Kraynanski was able to keep the driver safe until the family was able to respond and reunite with their missing family member. Thankfully the driver was unharmed and returned safely without further incident. A job well done!”
