Caldwell Schools Cancel SAT Exams as Storm Nears

SAT exams scheduled for tomorrow have been postponed until Feb. 7 at West Essex High School in North Caldwell and James Caldwell High School in West Caldwell as Winter Storm Iola is scheduled to arrive Friday night into Saturday.

School officials say parents and students are frustrated by the rescheduled date as Feb. 7 is the same day as the ACT, which means some students may have to take two different tests on the same day.

Winter Storm Iola is expected to bring at least a half-foot of snow, mixed with sleet and freezing rain.

The North Caldwell Police Department reminded residents that overnight parking is suspended due to the pending storm. Vehicles must be removed from roadways in the borough, however if you can’t park in a driveway, the pool parking lot next to Borough Hall is available.

Officials added that residents must remove snow and ice within 24 hours of the end of the storm.
