Third grade students at Jefferson Elementary School received a huge surprise from the Rotary Club of the Caldwells on Jan. 8, which donated more than 200 dictionaries to local schoolkids and discussed the importance of dictionaries as a tool for improved education.

Rotarians Samantha McCoy and Jonathan Smith were joined by members of the James Caldwell High School Interact Club to distribute the dictionaries. Club advisor Cheryl Baut was joined by junior’s Alice Kong, Samantha Felton and senior and Interact Club president Elizabeth Rosa participated in the distribution at Jefferson Elementary School.

Students from Jefferson, Lincoln, Washington and Wilson Elementary Schools each received a visit from the club. Dictionaries were also donated to students in Essex Fells and North Caldwell.
