Storm Forecast Affects 3 School Districts In The Caldwells

UPDATED: A frigid winter storm forecast affected the Caldwell-West Caldwell, North Caldwell and West Essex Regional districts.

CALDWELLS, NJ — A frigid winter storm forecast has created chills throughout the Caldwell-West Caldwell, North Caldwell and West Essex Regional districts.

State officials have imposed highway restrictions now that a nor'easter could produce up to 24 inches of snow beginning on Sunday, and could impact New Jersey well into Tuesday. Authorities say they're also addressing the potential impact on COVID vaccination sites.

Heavy snow is possible and winds could gust as high as 50 mph. More than an inch per hour could fall during the height of the storm, which could be anytime between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday, although snow could also fall before then, the National Weather Service said.
