Caldwell's Lifelong Learning Institute Offering Fall Lectures and Classes

Caldwell University's Lifelong Learning Institute will offer intriguing lectures and classes for the fall semester beginning Oct. 6.

Friday lectures will run from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The cost is $60 for the series and $10 per lecture. Participants can also pay at the door. They will include:

  • “Russia from Tsar to Putin,” presented by Eugene Lieber, Oct. 10
  • “This Is Mozart,” by Catherine Sprague, Oct. 17
  • “Alan Fried and the Birth of Rock and Roll,” by James Clarke, Oct. 24
  • “Historic Haunts of Central New Jersey,” by Gordon Ward, Oct. 31
  • “Isn’t It Romantic? Music of Rogers and Hart,” by Fred Miller, Nov. 7
  • “U.S. Power in a Changing World,” by Dr. Carlos Yordan, Nov. 14
  • “Music of the Roaring Twenties,” by Dr. Bob Butts, Nov. 21.

MONDAYS:

  • Ronni Strell will teach knitting from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Fee: $30 for five sessipns.
  • “The Doctor Is In,” with Bernard Strauss, M.D., will run from noon to 12:50 p.m. Fee: $25 for four sessions.

WEDNESDAYS:

  • Hy Kleinman will offer “Famous Names True and Fictitious” from noon to 12:50 p.m. in fourWednesday sessions. The cost is $25.
  • “World War I: Into the Modern Age,” with Don Hanson, will run from noon to 12:50 p.m. on three Wednesdays. The cost is $20.

FRIDAYS

  • A news and views Friday discussion group, led by Anita Gordon, will meet 1:15 to 2:45 p.m. for six sessions. The cost is $35.
