She was 78-years-old.

“Sr. M. Brigid Brady, O.P., 78, died on Friday, January 1, 2016, at St. Catherine of Siena Health Care Center in Caldwell, NJ.
“Sister Brigid was born in Glen Ridge and grew up in Caldwell prior to entering the Dominican Sisters of Caldwell on August 15, 1955.

“Sister has a BA in English from Caldwell College, an MA in English from the University of Scranton and her PhD in English from Rutgers University.
“She taught English at Sacred Heart School in Lyndhurst, St. Mary’s School in Wharton and Union Catholic Girls High School.
“In 1971 Sister Brigid began a 43 year career at Caldwell University in the English Department as well as serving as the Superior of the Sisters in Mother Joseph Residence Hall.
“Sister was widely recognized as a specialist in Medieval Literature and the history of the English language and was a sought after presenter on both subjects throughout the area.
“Sr. Brigid is survived by her nieces, Sheila, Maura & Jennifer Brady and her cousins Peter, David, Paul, Philip & Dennis Ahr.
“Memorial donations to the Sisters of St. Dominic, One Ryerson Avenue, Caldwell NJ 07006 would be appreciated.”
